With the approval of the Academic Advisor, a junior or senior may take one course a semester on a pass/no pass (P/N) basis. It must be determined by the advisor that the course will expand and enrich the student™s experience. If passed, the credits will count for graduation, but neither grade nor credits will be calculated in the quality point average.
Once a course has been identified as a pass/no pass elective, the course must be completed as such, and the grade submitted must be a P or an N. A student may not elect to take a required course on a pass/no pass basis if pass/no pass is not the default grade mode. The decision to elect the pass/no pass option must be made no later than the end of the add/drop period. Credits attempted as pass/no pass do not count toward the 12-credit-minimum requirement for Dean's List eligibility.
